"I'll think of it all tomorow, at Tara. I can stand it then. Tomorrow, I'll think of some way to get him back. After all, tomorrow is another day."
I finished Gone with the Wind today...I was happy that I finished it, but sad because I do think its a tragedy...with the characters never being truly honest with each other until its too late...

Whose Father Was He?

By Errol Morris
No name — but a soldier brave, he fell.
We shall find her, without a name;
This picture, sometime, will tell whence he came.
— Emily Latimer, “The Unknown”
The soldier’s body was found near the center of Gettysburg with no identification — no regimental numbers on his cap, no corps badge on his jacket, no letters, no diary. Nothing save for an ambrotype (an early type of photograph popular in the late 1850s and 1860s) of three small children clutched in his hand. Within a few days the ambrotype came into the possession of Benjamin Schriver, a tavern keeper in the small town of Graeffenburg, about 13 miles west of Gettysburg. The details of how Schriver came into possession of the ambrotype have been lost to history. But the rest of the story survives, a story in which this photograph of three small children was used for both good and wicked purposes. read on here...
old photos fascinate me and I can't wait to see how this five part story ends...
Sometimes I experience moments where I realize I am no longer a child and must act like an adult...although didn't really stop me from having a 30 second tantrum after finding out much it will cost when my car goes into the shop tomorrow...It needs the maintenance so it has a long life and I had been putting off the alignment...alas there goes some of my fun/savings money... :P

Rain rain go away...
Last night I had a fun night of playing Cranium with friends out in Bradford...
Today I spent far too much time outside in the rain...and really hoping I didn't make myself more sick than I already am...Yes I do take vitamins, but lately it seems every few weeks I end up feeling under the weather...hoping for a good week

Yesterday.....
I mailed three letters...
One to Baltimore hopefully to get a piece of a puzzle that has been bothering me for awhile with my genealogy research...
One to Ireland to relatives which I hope to hear back from...not sure if what I had written down was an actual address but wait and see...
One to Canada to gain more information about family, perhaps I should have translated it to French...
Today....
I cut my bangs...sometimes I should learn to not pick up the scissors...
I slept in...starting to feel better although the cough still lingers...its hard for me to sit still and take it easy...
I purchased a plane ticket for my vacation in May....will have to plan out lots of stuff to do...

New Color and a New Shape for Fiesta

From Apartment Therapy--Two new launches from Fiesta at the Home and Housewares show this week: a new color of the ever-collectible dishware and a brand new shape that was described to us as a modern update of the classic brand.
The new color is called Lemongrass and is a modern yellow green with a touch of acid. It was shown with a creamy vanilla color and a dark brown and it worked as a nice counterpoint to both. Pieces in this color will ship in June 2009.
Photos: Janel Laban
The new shape dinnerware is available this month (in the eight colors shown) and is a rounded-corner square. It has the distinctive Fiestaware ridged bands around the edge and, while it is quite a serious departure from the very familiar round plates, it still is immediately recongnizable as Fiestaware product due to the colors and finish and overall weight of the plates.

Ghost Town

When misanthrope Bertram Pinckus (Gervais) comes back from the dead, he discovers that he has the ability to see ghosts. Among the spirits is Frank (Kinnear) who, in his attempt to stop the wedding of his widow (Leoni), draws Bertram into a bizarre love triangle.
Yeah I will admit I caught myself smiling as I watched this romantic comedy starring Tea Leoni, Greg Kinnear, and Ricky Gervais. Sometimes Gervais makes me uncomfortable with his delivery like in the British version of The Office, but I have to say I enjoyed him in this film like I have in his series Extras. Kinnear is funny as he tries to figure out why he can't cross over yet and tries to make Gervais's character likable which is not an easy task. I honestly liked the movie more than I was expecting.
PS. I realized as I watching the scene from the picture above that I have actually been there. Its the MET in New York City. I remember walking through there being in awe of everything because I am a fan of Egyptian artifacts.
