Bangor State Fair

Today we went to the Bangor State Fair. We went on a bunch of rides and ate fried food. I wasn't feeling super after the Berry Go Round, but tried to continue with the rides.

I finally got to try a fried twinkie. It was sweet and tasty warm.

I also indulged in fried oreos which I have to say I liked more than the fried twinkie. mmmm.

We spent a ridiculous amount to win this minion but I was left the fair happy. :)

Today I went and saw Pride and Prejudice performed at Folger Library at the University of Maine. My friend Jess was in the play. It was part of a project where casting was done differently giving various people opportunities to play roles that they wouldn't normally be cast in. There were guys playing the part of girls and a person that was a brain injury survivor. I loved hearing the story and I was engrossed in the drama of the Jane Austen story.

More digging found out not a foundation but a very large well. We hit water. Peter said good news is that its not an old outhouse. :P this is going to require more digging.

Last night we worked on getting a large rock out of the ground that was sticking up so that the lawn mower wouldn't hit it. We ended up digging more after finding more large rocks like it was an old foundation. I thought we could use the rocks for a later project. I have a few more rocks to dig up that are sticking out.

A new print for the wall by one of my favorite Maine artist Alan Claude. I picked it up while at the Yarmouth Clam Festival. It's of Pemaquid Point lighthouse that we recently visited. I will have to keep an eye out for a better frame for it that fits an 8x8 print.
I had a fun weekend visiting family in southern Maine.
You have to get a Lime Rickey while at the Yarmouth Clam Festival.

My furry nephew Cephas. :)

The boys Todi and Banchi. They were waiting for treats.

"Hahahaha Wha?" Yes I got another minion. I am happy. He was the one I really wanted.

Where's Wendy?

On Sunday I ventured south towards the coast and conquered something off my life list, to see a puffin in the wild. Have you ever seen a puffin? I took the
Hardy Boat cruise and spent majority of the time looking through binoculars and exclaiming "oh my its so cute!" as I stared at puffins and my boyfriend tried to take photographs for me. I recommend bringing binoculars and a good telephoto lens if venturing out. We did see a variety of birds and I loved the fact that people from the Maine Audubon were aboard to point out different birds. We also visited the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse and Fort William Henry while in the area. The weather was nice but very warm.

Pemaquid Point Lighthouse

Loved the cool designs on the rock from  years of the water hitting it.

me and Peter by the lighthouse

Fort William Henry

OMG Puffin!! I spent the whole time staring through binoculars while Peter tried to snap photos for me. Next time I will get my hands on a telephoto lens.

Eastern Egg Rock - It was loud from all the birds.

Yup I was happy as a clam after the cruise!

Today we installed gutters. I was excited to get this done. I also invested in a ladder. If I have gutters I will need one.

I'm planning on planting another peony bush by the down spout. I am hoping this will help with the water problem.

I want to make this....amongst so many other things...Found it on Pinterest. It will be nice once I reach the point of no more home projects and I can spend time on art projects and actually decorating my house.

I also liked this one, maybe in a solid color. :)
