I won an award at the Kick Off 2010 event at work today. I was very very surprised and wasn't expecting to see my name on the screen when they were handing out awards. Corey whispered to me if I wanted him to make room for me to go up and I thought he was joking and then I saw my name on the screen. I was really moved by the speech the head of the call center made when describing me. It was a little funny that everyone laughed when she said most people would describe me as shy and reserved. Still in a little shock about it. I had to have my photo taken with the head of our call center and her boss who was visiting. Only four people won the award today so still really surprised I was the one nominated for it out of my peers. I had a mini celebration before I went back to work by going to Starbucks and getting a peppermint mocha latte. Its so surprising to me because I was stressed out today and wasn't in the best mood and that completely turned my day around. Still weird to look up and see the award at my desk.

Shamrock Shake #2....

They are alright this year, but I don't think the milk shake machine at McDonald's hasn't been mixing the shake very well and its not as minty as I would want. Perhaps I should make my own.

Shamrock Shake time!

I caved and got a Shamrock Shake tonight. :)

We went out to the swamp today to find a puzzle cache.

It was treacherous but I only fell through the ice once.

Corey saved me from falling in further although

he almost fell in himself helping me.

There it is! Solved the puzzle this fall,

but we couldn't get to it until the winter.

We were in Winterport on the dragway.

This was an airstrip that was built in case anything happened to the Bangor airport,

but fortunately was never needed.

We couldn't find the cache here. :(

hehe this was a final stage for a cache :)

I ended the day with five finds, soaked jeans, a sore shin,

but was overall a fun time.

Oh yes...excited to add the 2009 Puerto Rico quarter to my collection. Yes, I collect the state quarters. I have all of the ones minted in Philadelphia from 1999 to the 2008 Hawaii quarter. I am still trying to complete my set for the quarters minted in Denver.

I don't know why I have hearts on the brain... I don't have a Valentine...and not a huge fan of the commericalized holiday. I think you should express your love for someone year round not just one day.

We went to Pushaw Lake today to grab two caches that are on the islands out there. Amazingly I didn't fall once...unlike Corey ;) It was windy out on the ice but was very beautiful outside. The ice was still really thick even though it was 40 degrees out so there was no danger of falling through. Unlike last year we were able find the Island Hoppers cache although we did need a little help and had to phone a friend.

Stablicers from LLBean kept me from falling.

Tonight I went to the Banff Mountain Film Festival at the Opera House in Bangor, Maine. I had never been before and I am glad I was able to go. :) The films were incredible and its amazing to see the lengths people will go for an adventure. Makes me wish I was more athletic.
