Day 1 - Something Different

Day 2 -Something Different

I received an awesome birthday present in the mail from my Dad and Jamie. Yes, I did the happy dance when I opened the box. I love it! Everyone I know that has one has been happy with the Keurig and I really wanted one for myself. So excited to use it.  

Day 3 - Something Different

Moving has made me feel rather scatterbrained. On Day 3 on went to sleep wearing socks, something I never do and actually woke up still wearing them. I've been incredibly tired this week. I also tried to wash my hair with body wash instead of shampoo. I can't wait to be all moved in and settled.

Day 4 - Something Different

I spent a while at Home Depot and Lowes today. I ended up selecting the fixture in the middle for the bathroom because its simple and the brushed nickel. I don't think I ever realized how many choices you have to make when buying a home. Its a little overwhelming. 

First causality of moving. I now have a reason to go to IKEA to replace these glasses.

I had a visitor today at the new house. His name is Beau and he belongs to my cousin Corey. 

For some reason he didn't want me to take his photo but I was able to get this picture. 

He was very well behaved and a sweet dog. He followed us all over the house. 

Day 5 - Something Different

I installed the light shade for this fixture today because the original one looked like it belonged in a bathroom (this is in the kitchen). Process of moving has started and trying to get things organized and moved. On vacation starting this evening to Sunday.

Day 6 - Something Different

Majority of the outlets in my new house are like this...upside down. Not sure why and half of them have white covers while the other half have beige. Its been quite surreal doing stuff to the house already. I decided to keep all of them white although I didn't realize how many outlets were actually in the house. I've been feeling overwhelmed with moving and feel like I haven't made much progress moving stuff. I'm trying to get over a cold and it was a stressful weekend. Hoping for a good week and being able to get majority of my to do list done this week and be all moved in by next weekend. 

Happy New Year! - Day 7 - Something Different

For New Years, I went to the Hollywood Slots with a friend and heard the band Rock Revelation play. I work with one of the singers. It was really crowded, but I had fun. I had never been to the New Years celebration there. I saw my cousin Timmy and his wife Kelly too. 

Day 8 - Something Different

Today I work my last night shift. For the next six months I will start working days. I'm pretty excited about that. :)

Day 9 - Something Different

Today was very special. I closed on my very first home. :)

Day 10 - Something Different

Today I got a venti skinny Peppermint Mocha...and cold medicine.

Still not feeling well, but super excited for tomorrow. I can't wait to share the good news!!

Day 11 - Something Different

My coworker Erika got me a Yoda marshmallow lollipop. :)

Day 12 - Something Different

Today I realized that when I don't feel well I am very forgetful. I forgot a bunch of important stuff at my mother's yesterday and today had trouble troubleshooting an iPhone issue. I didn't want to move at all from my desk at work and thankfully it wasn't super busy at work although its been rough working the night by myself in my department. It is going to be very weird starting the day shift in a week. I am excited but also nervous about going to days for the next six months.
I've been thinking about the new year and I am hoping for a lot of good to be happening in 2012. On Thursday I will be able to share my good news. ;)

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope everyone had a great day. We actually ate breakfast first before opening presents, which was very different for us. I loved everything I got.

Day 14 - Something Different

I told my mother about Elf on the Shelf and she went through her decorations and found these two elves from her childhood. They are over 50 years old! Mum said my sister and I could have one. :)
