Today I went to my friend's daughter's 6th year old birthday party. It was pirate themed and a lot of fun.
I loved my friend Shayne's shirt, Goonies Forever! It seems like time flies by. I remember her first birthday party when she was just a baby.

A mermaid even showed up.

My friend Cori makes the best cakes.

This is a weed near my vegetable garden. It's pretty so I didn't pull it.
I saw this caterpillar and decided best to leave him where he was. I don't think he was the poisonous kind but wasn't sure.
I got my hair cut on Wednesday. I had to chop an inch off to even it out. Soon I will have long hair again.

GOTR

On Saturday I went to the Mumford and Sons show in Portland at the Eastern Prom. There were supposedly 16,000 people there for the first stop on the Gentlemen of the Road tour. The music was great although the venue was packed with people and getting food and drinks took forever.

The design for the show was awesome.

I've had these metal peacocks to hang on the wall for years. I finally decided what I wanted to do with them. A little spray paint and I love how they came out.
Before - I didn't like the color so they stayed hidden away in a tote

spray painting....(I did it at night in the barn, must remember to do that in the daytime)

After - love the color now.  :) I've been trying to use what I have already to decorate the house.

I'm patiently waiting for my hair to get longer. Slowly making progress.
Monday I had to deal with replacing my flat tire. That was not fun at all getting stranded out on Route 2 outside of Newport. Thankfully with my car insurance I could get help to get the spare tire on. I was able to just replace the damaged tire instead of all four.

Today I went to Farmington, ME where I spent two years going to college at UMF. This is Merrill Hall. It was like walking down memory lane walking around the campus. It hasn't changed much.

There was no Dunkin Donuts when I lived here. We used to drive all the way to Skowhegan to go to the Dunkin Dounts that was in a gas station.

The library was built in 1901 and is a beautiful building.

I used to hang out here. It really hasn't changed much.

This is my dorm from freshman year, Scott Hall.

I achieved my summer goal of going to all of the Gifford's locations in the state of Maine. I get entered in to win Red Sox tickets. I thought it was fun visiting all of the locations so far this summer. I had only been to two of them before.

I started two new projects tonight. I can't wait to share them. I got to use my new sander tonight and I love it. Still need to pick up a drill sometime soon. I also tried a new stainless steel cleaner that worked great to clean my pots that had gotten a residue on them from burning Pam cooking spray. They are like new now. :) I found the cleaner at Walmart near Comet on bottom shelf.

I am proud of myself. Made it to the gym today. Hoping to try to do something active every day to get into shape. Things have been a little bit busy for me working overtime which may continue through September.

Lunch

So proud of myself that I was able to poach an egg for lunch. I had never really tried to do it before and been successful. I tried a different method and it worked great. I boiled water and using a ramekin I dumped the egg into the boiling water and waited 4 minutes before I took it out with a slotted spoon. Also I was excited I had lettuce ready from the garden. The tomatoes are getting close to being ready.

I stopped in Auburn on the way home to get another stamp. I only need one more to have visited all the Gifford's in the state of Maine. I get entered into a drawing to win Red Sox tickets and need to complete it by August 1st. This goal is a lot easier than the time I decided to visit every Starbucks in the state of Maine (which I did do before I turned 30 ;)
