Happy Groundhog Day!

While in PA we drove south and visited Indiana, PA, the hometown of Jimmy Stewart. It was cool to learn more about the great actor.

I attempted some sewing tonight. I learned burlap is not easy to sew with. Not perfect but will look ok on the couch for February. 

Today we went to an estate sale in Bangor. It was an old house that was cool simply to walk around in. I got a potato basket, a press for toast that says good morning. Peter got a circuit board holder like what he used for his senior project for only a $1 and he was given a baseball too. We are curious to see what the house will go on the market for. 

I took the time recently and reorganized the pantry. Eventually I'd like to redo the pantry room and make it more functional. 

I got the trays from Target for $1 each. 

Today I decided to change things up and add some red to decor. 

Sadness...the camera on my phone stopped working....which means no photos for me. I'm debating about switching brands once I'm eligible for a new phone. I'm currently waiting for a replacement phone. I will be able to post more once my phone is up and running.

Tonight I made lemon pizza. It was surprisingly tasty. 

A few months ago my grandmother gave me an hot air popcorn maker. Not sure how old the machine is but she said my grandfather loved popcorn. I found some kernels and gave it a try. First I used too small of a bowl and made a mess. Second try went better. 

It snowed today. We took advantage of that and made a snowman. A very short snowman. :)

Last two days were 10 hours each day at work so not very exciting. I did get a note from Peyton though. I think it says Wendy we will go to your birthday party. It was cute because she only asked her dad how to spell my name though my birthday was earlier this month. 

Today I grabbed lunch from Schnitzel Maine, a food truck that's in the Kmart parking lot in Bangor. The chicken schnitzel was yummy.

Last week wasn't very exciting and we had freezing rain on Saturday causing me to miss out on Frozen Fenway. :( We watched people sliding around right in front of us so we knew the driving was bad. Our driveway was all ice. Noticed cars driving on the wrong side of the road to avoid the icy southbound lane.

Today was very cold. 

It was a nice surprise to get birthday cards in the mail. :)

Today I tried to snack on something healthy instead of candy. Its very hard to not go sugar crazy with all the sweets I got this Christmas. I made the effort and walked on the treadmill when I got home from work while Peter made dinner. I'm trying to be more active and its encouraging seeing my FitBit light up from my daily progress.

It was so cold out today all day. It never got above 0. I am not a fan of this weather. 

Happy New Year! 

My resolutions for 2014 is to get healthy and have a good attitude. I used my treadmill today and spent the day with my sweetheart running errands and relaxing. I feel like some changes are needed and need to stay more positive in stressful situations. I'm excited for what 2014 will bring. 

I found an old ceramic tree at Goodwill today that I need pegs for that reminded me of one my grandmother had.

We cleared off some of the ice off the roof today. It was very thick and unfortunately we found a spot where the wood was rotting that we will have to deal with it in the spring. The ice was very thick from the recent storm and it wasn't going anywhere.
