Saratoga Springs

I visited Saratoga Springs, NY recently. It was a nice city to visit. Plenty to see and do. 

Today I had breakfast at the Palace Diner. Ever since I was a kid I wanted to check this place out. Now it's open with new owners and the food is delicious. I tried the deluxe sandwich and it was yummy. 

Realized recently that I love the taste of fresh cut peaches. Mmmm 

Also isn't my niece adorable? :)

Art project today. Made a shark out of old barn board. Thanks to my mum for cutting it with the jigsaw. 

I have been coloring in an adult coloring book. It's relaxing and fun. 

Love this kid. 

I got to spend time with my sister and niece wandering around Portland recently. 

Lorelei got to try crepes for the first time at Portland Patisserie. We will need to go back soon to try some of the desserts there.

We tried some drinks from Vena's Fizz House. I tried a cherry lime rickey soda that was yummy.

Having the Ay Ay Ron chicken biscuit sandwich from Figgy's take out & catering was awesome. It was so delicious. I want to go back as soon as I can!

We went to the dump today to get rid of some random stuff. While we were there we noticed an old bureau with pretty hardware. It was funny how I mentioned I liked the hardware so my mom had no problem trying to get it apart. We were able to grab two handles out of three that were on the bureau. When we got home I scrubbed them with brass cleaner. 

I had a great day today celebrating my niece's first birthday. 

I had been craving soft serve twist with sprinkles for a while. I got it at the Dairy Corner in Scarborough, ME. I will have to come back to try the maple soft serve. 

I've been busy this summer so I have been neglecting my garden but I got a surprise today when I checked it. A zucchini and blueberries were ready to be picked. :) 

Today I visited the Saco River Market. 

There were local vendors. I liked seeing the animals that were there today. It's a market that is there every Saturday year round. 

I am starting to look forward to Thursdays now because I spend the morning with my sister and her daughter going on mini adventures. 

Today we visited Tandem Coffee Roasters on 122 Anderson Street in Portland, ME. 

I tried the Malted ice coffee which was a little sweet and a cheddar jalapeño biscuit. I want to check out their other location on Congress Street next. :)

I made a portrait of Lincoln out of pennies. It took some work but I completed it today. It took over $8.00 worth of pennies. 

On Sunday my niece got to go in the pool for the first time. She loved being in the water. 

I also got to leave the house and see the Minions movie. It was a funny movie. I think Bob was my favorite.

Today my sister, my niece and I decided to go on a mini adventure venturing somewhere new. We think we will try doing this every Thursday when we have free time together. We first stopped at Omi''s Coffee Shop in Portland, ME. I tried the Beekeeper's latte and Charlotte tried the coconut cold brew. Both were delicious along with blueberry biscuit. 

Our next stop was for donuts at Little Bigs in South Portland. Its like walking right into a bakery in the middle of the action. All of the donuts on the rack looked fresh and delicious. I also loved that they had fresh Coffee By Design coffee with coffee ice cubes. 

I tried the raspberry and creme bismarck. It was yummy and tasted like it was just made. 

Also Banchi was a lazy bum today who wasn't pleased I made the bed so he improvised and tried to get under the pillow. He prefers sleeping in, every day.
